College Visits at Creek

What are college rep visits?

Each year, more than 400 colleges and universities from around the United States and internationally visit Cherry Creek High School during the school day to give presentations about their schools and meet interested student applicants. This year these visits will be hosted virtually during 5th period. Each visit lasts 30 minutes and students should sign-up on their Naviance accounts prior to the scheduled visit. The link will show up 15 minutes before the start of the meeting. To view a current list of our upcoming scheduled college visits - check your Naviance under your "College Tab".

Who may attend College rep visits?

Seniors and juniors may attend virtually during their 5th period. Students can also meet college reps at the college fairs held in the evenings during the fall. Refer to the "Events" tab for a full list of local college fairs and events.
These sessions are intended for students.

Why are college rep visits important?

  • College reps work in the admissions office of the college or university. The rep who visits Creek is often the person who reads and reviews the applications from Creek.
  • The college reps that visit year after year are familiar with Creek and the variety of programs rigor, and student population. These reps will advocate for the admission of qualified Creek students with the college or universities admission committee.
  • It is important for students to meet the admission reps of schools to which they plan on applying to. This demonstrates the students interest in the school and gives the rep a chance to put a face with the students name. Many college admission reps keep track of any contact the student has made with the college. Ex: attending a college rep visit, visiting campus, emailing the rep with a follow-up question etc. The reps factor this into the admission decision because it shows that the student is serious about attending the school if admitted.
