Job Corps helps build a skilled workforce to meet industry needs.  Opportunities exist in industries from construction and finance to hospitality and health care.  Within industries, the training areas are vast with students focusing on specialties and gaining tools they need to succeed in a dynamic career.

Apprenticeships

What is an apprenticeship?  It's a program that offers on-the-job training to become skilled in a trade or profession.  Apprenticeships are an affordable way to enter a wide variety of in-demand careers, combining classroom learning with hands on work, often leading to a certificate in a skilled profession. Even better, apprenticeships are paid.

Apprenticeship Resources by State

Registered Colorado Apprenticeship Programs

  • Check the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment's Colorado Registered Apprenticeship Programs directory for almost 1,000 employers and programs in industries from accounting to x-ray equipment tester, and everything in between.  Examples of listed registered programs include wood flooring specialist, workforce development analyst, welder, wirer, tree trimmer, production technologist, programmer, project manager, sports equity manager, quality control inspector, geohazard mitigation tech, operating engineer, cook, medical assistant, line repairer, machinist, legal secretary, landscape manger, industrial maintenance mechanic, well drilling operator, quartz glass fabricator, electrician, dispatcher, commercial designer, drone pilot, animal trainer, and hundreds more.

Arapahoe/ Douglas Works
  • Arapahoe/Douglas Works helps job seekers find registered apprenticeships, offering candidates the chance to learn while they earn, gaining hands-on experience in a quality career pathway.  Search the statewide apprentice directory, check out the Department of Labor job finder, and look through registered apprentice partners for the next step on your career path.  
  • The site also offers Future U for youth and young adults who are looking for assistance with achieving their education and employment goals.  Resources for those ages 16-24 include on-the-job training, GED prep, career exploration, hiring and job search assistance and more.  
CareerWise Colorado
  • CareerWise Colorado offers many programs and services connecting job seekers with apprenticeship options. The Occupations resource page lets you select an industry to learn more about it, to see qualities of an ideal candidate for the role, and to learn specific ways to get started on that career path.  

Lockheed Martin Apprenticeships
